Boston College (0-2) will be hosting Maine (0-2) this Saturday Night. Kickoff will be at 7:30PM ET from Alumni Stadium (Chestnut Hill, MA) and will be regionally televised (in New England) on NESN.
The last time these two teams played was in 2015 when BC beat Maine 24-3. Boston College is still winless starting out 0-2 for only the second time since 1994. Maine (FCS team) is also winless so far this season and is looking to beat BC for the first time since 1915.
Boston College is expected to blow out lesser FCS opponents similar to Maine, however BC has fallen short of expectations in every game this year. This is a great opportunity for BC to finally execute well and work on the many parts of their game that need improvement, especially the offensive line. While it is expected that Boston College will dominate the line against a much less talented Maine roster, nothing would surprise BC Football Fans at this point. In fact, Maine's pass rush has improved dramatically from last season - recording six sacks through 2 games, which is half of its total sacks recorded in 2021.
So Boston College Football Fans, we don't blame you for having little confidence or enthusiasm for this team and for this game. But BC plays football this Saturday Night, under the lights at Alumni Stadium, and if everything goes right - Boston College will get its first win of the 2022 season. We think the defense will completely dominate this game and the offense will show glimpses of what we expected to see at the beginning of the season. The playmakers that BC has on offense will be to fast for Maine's defense to contain. This game will also show that when Jurkovec has pass protection this offense really is fun to watch.
The defense will not give up a touchdown in this game. Maine will not be able to sustain any drives against the BC defense, the only way we see the Black Bears scoring any points is if the Eagles turn the ball over.
